Chapter 7

The scene in the hotel room in chapter 7 is similar to the scene in chapter 2 when Tom takes his mistress to the hotel room because they both show the effect of illusion. The illusion that is being shown in these two chapters is a scenario of the perfect world and a happy family. In chapter 2,  Tom and his mistress Mertile escape away to the city into a hotel and are in their own bubble of happiness and perfection. Then in chapter 7 the author Fitzgerald took us back to a hotel room to allso show the illuison of happiness and perfection but instead it is towards Daisy and Gatsby.
